For the start, the Institute has decided to prioritize research that focuses on the following themes as they relate to the social, political, economic and cultural lives of the people who inhabit the Northern and Eastern Provinces of Sri Lanka and Tamil-speaking communities on the entire island.
The Institute hopes that the trajectories of the research that will be supported by the Institute in the future will evolve through dialogue, academic exchanges and consultations with the members of the wider community.
